seat slider springs

on a 54 Ford, where do the slider assy springs hook? I vaguely remember them going through the oval hole in the slider base and being hooked to the back of the slider, but it doesn't seem right. There are also 2 small springs that hook into the locking levers. The left side is no problem, but the right side has no corresponding spot. Next time I'm taking pictures. Thanks, Joe
