Anyone know if the 1960 Cadillac had front seat belts? I cant seem to find a place where they might have been hooked up to!!

I suspect that it did not. Seatbelt use (or mandate) didn't really come to fruition till the mid '60s.

Cadillac introduced front seat belts as an option in 1949, but most customers hated the idea of being strapped into their cars so much that they didn't sell many of them. Some customers who did order them even went so far as to have them removed later. Seat belts remained an option until 1964, when all new cars were required to have front seat belts as standard equipment. Rear seat belts became required as standard equipment in 1966.

Your Cadillac probably didn't come with either front or rear seat belts, but it's possible that it did, and they were removed later. You might try to find a factory assembly manual for your car to see where they were mounted. Lacking that, check the underside of the car around the seat area. Most belts were (are) bolted through the floor, through relatively large plates or washers that are less likely to rip through the sheetmetal in a crash. Some belts were bolted to the seat itself, but I'm not sure if Cadillac did that or not.

I talked with a friend of mine who has a 1960 Caddy he has owned since it was new. He said his car does not have seat belts, and never did.

No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.

If you want to install belts in the car, You might look for a set of Sears Robuck and Co belts. Back in the day they offered aftermarket belts and they would in fact be period correct for the cadilll lick

GM reproduction belts are available from several manufacturers and mail order outlets. I believe Juliano's may have some GM seat belts.
