Are you making this from scratch? You are not copying the old seat? The front should have about a 42" long straight rectangle with each end sewn to a piece shaped like the one in the picture. The left side piece will be a mirror image of the right side piece, or a pair. You will have to adjust the size of the part to fit your seat top. You can see how this shape will turn the corner on both sides of the seat. I hope I'm answering your question correctly, if not, keep asking.

Bravo to you for trying to make the seat from scratch. You will learn a ton of things from doing it that way. Looks like you figured out how to sew the round corners on the inserts, too.

What would have made your seat cover a lot better would be using sew foam under all the parts on the top of the bottom seat and the face of the seat back, not just under the inserts.

Just like any other pattern, if something isn't coming out right, the pattern usually needs to be adjusted. Maybe you should try to copy a seat cover, or at least take a seat cover apart, for your next practice session. It may give you some insight as to what you could change to make the seat cover come out better.

If it's any constellation Vinyldude, I wish you had done my Rambler, who ever upholstered it didn't do any of these practice seats like you are. It looks like they did it one shot and yours looks a damn side better than what is in my car.

I gotta say "Bravo!"
Theres a local upholstery shop here that cranks out seats for the driver quality cars. Theirs aren't as nice as this. Keep up the good work, and keep finding new ways to challenge yourself
