Anybody running a relatively simple timing computer that they're happy with?

I would like to lock out the timing on my HEI distributor and do all the spark advance with some kind of box that I can program a simple 'curve' into. Being able to hook up the vacuum advance to it too would be a real bonus.

Current setup is a SBC HEI with MSD module & matching coil - which I am impressed with, BTW.

You might want to even consider electromotive's direct ignition system.

Simple, but not cheap, but worth it.

I have a nice msd unit..

you might look into a MEGASQUIRT not sure.. but I'd guess you can use it as an ign. timing box only..(they have a forum ,so you could get all your answers)
it's cheap.. and you can set the tables to whatever you want.. with a lap top..
and if you ever deside to go efi you already have the box..

i run omex ecu. has an amazing amount of tecky stuff . have a look at my threads of it and it shows some screeen shots ,it may be more involed than what want and also the cost ,
