Saw this sweet thing on my way back to school a few months ago. If i remember correctly it was a 440 4 speed, ran the vin and its the real deal. It was parked in front of a storage yard and was being towed to an auction in Biloxi. the Tow driver said the auction estimate was $350,000. A little low, but it had a couple of nicks in the paint.
Lot of those old (Service Stations ) before they were just gas stations supported entire familysmthe whole family worked at them,,miss those Old days,,,Happy Days,
I saw a pretty nice 1958 Chevy today. It was a 4 door but those look a lot better than they did 40 years ago. Today I was thinking back to when I was 16 and I ran across a black 1958 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop sitting in a field. I was going to find out who owned it but by the time I got back to it, it was gone. I should have asked around when I first saw it.
I worked on the Chevelle doing John's favorite job, grinding welds and then welding some more and grinding those welds. I found 2 more welds left to grind off and then I "think" I am ready to do a final clean up and seam seal...
Those Marlins are getting scarce,,the Only one I know of around here is in Summerville Ga ,it is Red and White with blue trim,i am guessing they have had since new ,it has been there ever since I can remember.
Everywhere is close in this age of transportation..
2600 miles might cost a bit for delivery..ain:
My former F-I-L had one sitting beside his garage for 25-30 years and finally realized he was never going to "fix it up". It rusted to dust sitting in the dirt.
Theres a nice little 69 AMC Javelin Im interested in just down the road. 290 4spd.it a nice little car but the guy wants too much.I stop by every month or so and he comes down a little but still not a fair price .The Javelin 69-70 are one of my all time favorate cars I restored one a long time ago and drove it for a couple years ,I sold it when I blew the motor and regreted it ever since. For some reason they are very hard to sell...
Wife and I went out to eat lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant is located in the next county 20+ miles away from home. We pull in to the parking lot and I spy this nice yellow 1966 Chevy Caprice. I pulled my old 1985 Ford 150 in the empty spot next to it and I just had to snap a picture of it before we went in.
The Chevy is registered in my home county and I cannot say that I've seen it before and that keeps rolling around my head bugging me. There was a red Caprice that was almost exactly like it with the exception of the color on a local car lot when I was in high school. Same year, same 396 badges on the front fenders and same bucket seat interior if it wasn't for the color it could be that car. However I seem to recall a yellow one that an upperclassman had in school that was yellow but he was enough older than me that I really wasn't real acquainted with him. I just can't quite put my finger on it and I usually am quite sharp on this stuff. Maybe I'm getting old?
