Selling a vehicle out of state

I've had my 72 Scout up for sale for a few weeks. Yesterday a guy called me from Florida (I live in Washington). He had seen the Scout on an International web site and wanted to buy it. While we were talking he Emailed me $1,000 to hold it. Minutes later I was notified by Paypal that I recieved the money. Today he arranged the transport and I'm going to deliver the vehicle to the depot this week sometime. This whole deal is going so smooth I find it hard to believe. I should get the remaining $6,000 tomorrow. The question is, how do I handle the title transfer? Never had an out of state deal before and I want to do it right. Thanks

I just had a guy from out of state buy my rambler so i'll go through the same thing.

I'm about 90% sure that you just transfer the title normally and the buyer of the vehicle is responsible for transferring it to his/her home state.

Just sign over the title and any other documents(release of liability, sold as is, etc,). The buyer then needs to register the title with Motor Vehicle Dept. in his state.
