SEM HotRod Black opinions

Hey guys. Well, I just picked up an 82 Cutlass. It's certanley not in the budget or timeline to do a nice bare metal, excellent quality job on the body right now (saving to move east a bit). Anyways, I'm considering a quick sand and nailing it with some satin black. SEM Hotrod black I can get a gallon with reducer and hardner here for 80 bucks right now.

Anyone have experience with this stuff? Hows it spray, hold up against washes etc, any tiger stripping? It only needs to last a few years at most until I strip her right down.

Cheers!

SEM trim/hotrod black is an excellent choice..
Easy to spray wisping on the final coats to control even coverage/sheen. Thins with lauqer thiner..
Needs no primer , will protect as well as sand off easy later acting as a guide coat...
Will last 10 years in straight sun,and if it does show any wear
just scuff and recoat..

**Must use a quality mask when spraying, don't breath this stuff

Good news. Thanks guys. Milo, by whisp do you mean something like with a metallic single stage or more like a drop coat for base?

Yes, like spraying a base color..You will find you have a lot of control with time between coats to sweep off any overspray or dust nibs with a piece of scothbrite or 400 sandpaper.. Plan on several light coats instead of piling it on..

Again bad to breath be sure and use a mask..

Pictures too..don't forget to get some pictures
