Serpentine belt miss match question
If the engine crank pulley has a 4 slot AC compressor pulley, and the AC pump has a 6 slot pulley assuming proper alignment between the two pulleys.
Would there be any problems using a 4 slot belt being the old AC was a 4 slot AC and worked fine?
This is being done by installing an AC pump with a different attachment design and a new bracket to move the AC in and down for frame clearance plus a shorter belt.
Only other options would be to find an OEM crank pulley with a second 6 slots, or see if the AC could be changed over to a 4 slot pulley.
Does anyone know if there is an OEM crank pulley with a second 6 slot for AC that would fit without moving the front belt passion?
Engine: Pontiac 2008 LS G8 L76 6.0L.
