You are missing the fact that all servo motors are not the same, just like all car engines are not the same. Some servos are just bare bones without a lot of features. I sew for a living, so I need something that's reliable. When I first started looking for a servo motor, I did a lot of checking and comparing before buying. I have three Sew-Quiet motors on my sewing machines, including one that runs my extra heavy duty long arm Singer 144, and none has ever given me an ounce of trouble.

First of all, Consew does not make the servo motors they sell, they are outsourced to the lowest bidder, just like their sewing machines which are made by Seiko. The servo motors are made as cheaply as they can be made just so they can be offered as an alternative to the clutch motor the sewing machine would normally come with.
Reliable makes their own motors to their standards. If you want to buy a Consew servo motor and save the money, by all means do so.

Thanks for the info. That's what I have been missing. I read each of their specs, and they both read about the same. I don't mind spending the extra money for something that is worth it. |
