This may be a stupid question, but how do you set the timing on a 94 T-bird. It has the 4.6 liter SOHC V-8. There are two coil packs, one on the end of each valve cover. Each has 4 spark plug wires.
I can see a mark for TDC and 10 degrees before TDC on the front cover.
But I don't know how you go about setting the timing. Help!
Steeda makes a product for 96+ 4.6L Mustangs. It's called the "timing adjuster". We have a buddy who runs one on his 99 GT, and he says it works great. May wanna look into one. They're around $170 I think.
It's not as bad as you think.........really. I haven't dabbled in mod motors at all, but we've sorta chronicled the mods of our buddy Josh (99 GT guy). Before they had the timing adjuster, I guess mod motor guys were pretty screwed. The only things he didn't like about it is that you have to use a Steeda-specific underdrive pulley. But between the two, I guess you can pick up quite a bit of HP and seat-of-the-pants feel. Those are the first two mods he recommends to anyone he knows driving a mod motor Mustang (or in your case, MN12).
