Setting up coilovers

I have a '32 TCI frame with front and rear coilovers and wonder as to how one would know whether the same adjustment was made on one side vs. the other. Do you measure the distance from the floor to the fender on each side or do you measure the amount of threads showing on the coilover or is there another way? I know that the front A arms have to be parallel to the ground, but one thread either way would probably make a difference as to the bounce in the suspension. Any comments?
