Setting up coilovers
:welcome:I have a '32 TCI frame with front and rear coilovers and wonder as to how one would know whether the same adjustment was made on one side vs. the other. Do you measure the distance from the floor to the fender on each side or do you measure the amount of threads showing on the coilover or is there another way? I know that the front A arms have to be parallel to the ground, but one thread either way would probably make a difference as to the bounce in the suspension. Any comments?
I usually measure to the frame when adjusting coil-overs. That is more accurate than measuring to the fenders typically. I usually adjust the drivers side about an 1/8" to 1/4" higher than the passenger side so the car sits a bit more level when just the driver is in the car. Adjusting the spring collars doesn't affect the ride of the car, just the ride height.
