The tech sheet for your primer should have a recomended air pressure and fluid tip size for your gun. What kind of primer? What model gun?

The gun is a cheap one from alltrade,I use it for primer. The thing is ,I guess I need to know how to read the gauge on the reg., the one attached to the gun.I 'm just not getting it right. I have the compressor set at around 45-50 lbs. But reg. is screwing with me.
I'm getting ready to shoot some high build, dura-build from evercoat.
I just shot the box with etch from eastwood. Should I go over it with epoxy ??? Before I fill???
Lots of beginners questions

I always shoot my dura-build (acrylic laquer primer) with about 45 PSI at the gun, with my HVLP but with a siphon feed you might want to check out your manual for the maximum recomended PSI and work down from that untill you get the desired results....make sure you are pulling the trigger while setting it for 45psi or w/e because It will drop. also siphons usually have a higher required psi than HVLP (or at least mine did) and set your tanks regulator to about 80 with the trigger pulled. for my primer gun (and bascoat/clear gun for a long time) I use the purple HVLP from harbor freight...its a GREAT gun for the money and has little overspray compared to a siphon feed. I bought mine for 50 bucks on sale I think it was the 43440 or something like that. Might need a new regulator too.
