1. "Wow we have ****in funny guy here with a joke! go take a nap man and oh """"""a poseur: a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not.""""""" Tech you need to pop a pill and yes you bother me and yes it does what its told!!BOB"

2. "So what every one here is saying is WHAT you dont like the price to performance well people say you are just getting a name well yes but that name means the sound of your ride to. There are people calling this a show car cam cause of the sound you get but how much are you losing realy come on don't knock it because you feel that 10hp would knock .05 seconds of o your 1/4 et. People keep your day jobs. If we were all that sart we would have our own show on the speed channel and there would only be the need for 4-5 different cams because you would tell everyone to use the same ones."

Just a sample of your churlish and immature responses when you first asked opinions on the MuthaThumper cam and you got answers you didn't like from just about everybody, including some moderators.

Now you want us to tell you what vacuum you should be running? You run the vacuum that the cam can provide. NO more and NO less. Don't know what it should be? Call the cam company, poser. BEAT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rest my case. I call on the moderators to ban you. You bring nothing to this forum and you are obviously not mature enough to post here. I am sure others agree.

For anyone wanting a little background, have a READ.

BTW, the thread cited above was finally locked after this post:

Quote:
OK MR. COOLrockinDADDY you are 51! Wow you must have 46years experience with cars and engines it must be awesome to have all of the knowledge you have trapped in that huge *** brain of yours. Let’s talk about a poser I came to this forum to get answers and I get a lot of criticism from you “”experts””. Man you don’t have a clue you think that you can make some jokes like you spend all dam day thinking that **** up. Well maybe it took a couple of days since the 21st was the last post but if you want to go back at it why not.

A mere 14 posts later (posts mainly about how awesome the Comp dumpster, I mean thumper cam is and how it sounds like all that, etc.- as if how it sounds matters LOL), we get treated to this latest foray into bad taste and lack of tact or decorum.

If this latest little tantrum doesn't get mr. badazz booted out of here, I guess nothing will. But I'm gonna bet that- at least- this thread gets locked just like the other one got locked.

Maybe I see this differently, and BadAzz93 and I have had some words over the Thumpr cam choice, but all I see is a slightly mis-worded question about vacuum followed by Cool Rockin Daddy dragging in worthless info from an old post.

As far as I'm concerned, Cool started this one and set Badazz off. It isn't the first time I've seen Cool get pretty snarkey. Nobody knows it all, everybody has to learn someplace, and the only bad question is one not asked.

To the OP's original question, vacuum level is pretty much a result of cam timing and compression ratio. Since I don't memorize everyone's engine builds and there are several sizes in the Thumpr cam line, list the pertinent specs on the engine and cam, and we can give you a decent idea how many inches of vacuum you should expect from your combo if everything is properly tuned.

While you have a good point, it is the manner of bz's response to the jibe from CRD that- for me- is telling. Instead of ignoring CRD or responding rationally, bz instead goes into an x-rated tirade, complete w/sexual references, etc. that I personally find troubling.

Does this mean that now this forum must be censored by members w/underaged family members before allowing them to read it? Just because ONE member has no self control, we all must pay the price for his immaturity? That's BS- plain and simple- IMO.

the only bad question is one not asked.
There are ways to ask a question that will almost assure a bad response- just as there's ways to ask a question that will all but guarantee that the question will be answered correctly and w/o drama.

Wrong way is to ask a question like, "What amout of vaccum should I run using a mutha thumpr cam."

Why? Because there's insufficient info to answer it, plain and simple.

The "correct" way to ask the question would go something like this:

"I have a xx engine in a mint xxx car. The engine has the smallest Thumper Comp makes, the specs are x,y and z.

The engine is a stock bottom end, xx pistons w/xxx" quench. Heads are XXX's, a XXX intake w/an XXX carb. Timing is xx degrees total, it's all in by xxxx RPM. The vacuum can is manifold vacuum fed.

I've searched this forum, but do not have enough knowledge to make any real sense of any of it.

My question is, how much vacuum should I see with this set-up? Can I tune it to get more vacuum from it?"

See the difference?

Cobe, I agree the responses are out of line with the cuss words, and the fact that Badazz needs a thicker skin. He**, I agree with your whole post, literacy seems to just get lower and lower in this country on a daily basis.

eric,

You are right. I did start it this time and I hope to end it also. He left such a bad taste in my mouth (and others') that I just couldn't believe he would post a question after he dissed EVERYBODY but you regarding his cam choice. The only reason you were treated civilly is you actually ran that cam before.

Go back and look at his posts. He doesn't ask complete questions. He doesn't thank people when they do respond with answers. I'm guessing he is about 17 years old and I know he needs lessons in manners and how to communicate with other human beings. Shame on him if he is older than a high school kid.

Cool, maybe you are thinking of another member -- Eric32 ?? As a racer I wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near a Thumpr cam, they are a joke .

Agree with your post though, Bad and I went round on the "poser" aspect of the Thumpr's reason for existing.

Eric,

You are absolutely right, it was Eric72 that ran that cam and as such was a hero to our confused young man.

Cool, I see where you’re coming from. It’s one thing when a poster actually has a legitimate problem and needs to be steered in the right direction or something clarified for him. It’s another when someone who doesn’t have a legitimate problem and is posting vague theoretical questions without any solid mechanical inclination wasting everyone’s time.

What really gets me is those who actually post solutions based on a vague question that they couldn’t even know what the actual problem is because there isn’t enough information to make that determination.
