What you're looking for is a compound feed (a combination of drop feed and needle feed) walking foot machine like a Pfaff 1245, the 545 is a needle feed only. Even an old 1245 goes for $1000. Look for the Singer 111W and any of it's clones (like the Consew 206, 226, 255 and other brands like Juki) and you'll get the same features, and usually at a better price. Also, parts are a lot more pricey for a Pfaff.
No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.
