Sewing machine advice

Hey guys, anyone familiar with either of these machines? I'm looking for something to use to reupholster my interior but I'm trying not to break the bank if possible. I've been looking for more of a classic 111w155 but it looks like with a servo motor etc it is unlikely I'll be able to get one in good running shape for under $500 or so which is my budget right now.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Dan

Those machines are portable machines, with built in 1/10th HP motors. No matter what they advertise, neither of them is going to be able to sew many layers of fabric and sew foam together effectively, which is very important in sewing auto upholstery. They may say they are "industrial" machines, but they are nothing more than glorified home sewing machines. True walking foot machines have alternating presser feet, which means the foot is in two pieces and both pieces have their own shaft, one up and one down at any given time. Neither of these machines is a true walking foot machine. They both are drop feed only, while true industrial machines have a combination of needle feed and drop feed. You will be very disappointed you wasted your hard earned money on either of those machines. Find yourself a used real industrial machine that you can afford. Any real industrial machine will be better than either of those two.

i just picked up a Consew 226r-1(111 clone) with table and standard motor from the state auction for $70 with almost no use on it. Something had been dropped on the hand wheel bending the cast aluminum so it needed a new wheel. I quickly found a wheel and a few different style feet on eBay for $80 so I have about $150 tied up in a like new machine. Look around, sometimes you can also find them on craigslist or eBay in your area for cheap!

You were very lucky, congratulations! That machine would sell for a minimum of $800 from a dealer.
