SFI Flex Plate

so due to a bad starter the teeth on my current flexplate got messed up and needs to be replaced.

i was just going to buy a summit brand sfi plate and be done with it but then i started to wonder.

what do u guys think would be better with a turbo car
standard weight
heavy wieght flex plate
lightwieght flexplate
how about one of the csr aluminum flex plates

Can I assume this is a Chevy engine? if so, you can get on ebay and buy a standard Scat SFI flexplate for about $38-40....thats all you need besides a new starter.

Depends how much power your engine makes. I'd say a perfect combination of strenght and weight. Not too light and weak, but not too heavy and bulky.

yeah its a sbc, its got enough turbo to make 1100@the crank but im not going to push it that hard though, relistically ill prolly end up keeping it around 750-800 hp

car is primarily a street car with 1-2 trips a year to the track and one trip a summer to run out on the salt flats

thanks for the tip on the scat sfi flexplate thats about 20 bucks cheaper then a summit brand one

i figure any sfi flexplate should be fine for it but i was just wondering since it is a twin turbo setup if going with a heavier or lighter flexplate would have any advantages over the a normal one

a heavy one will run about 70bucks though the csr billet lightwieght aluminum one was like 250 bucks
