You can take two pieces of angle iron in a vice and a couple of clamps each side of the vice and a hammer and it will work as good as any metal brake, try it first with about a eighteen inch piece of sheet metal. It will take a little bit to get it setting straight in the vice, but I do it all the time

Hi Bamaham and RobSS:

I think that one of the common problems in auto body are brakes and rollers, especially if you are working with 18 or 20 gauge body metal. I purchased an air powered flanger and punch. It was a cheapy, but has performed well and in many cases tidyed up my metal work.

Bamaham I have plans for a brake which I purchased on Ebay. It is strong, but does not require 3 men and a boy to move it.

I will look for the plan and get back to you.

Perrin

Perrin556,
I'll appreciat any info. I've been looking for a small affordable brake for some time, but most have been too small, or pricey.
Thanks,

Sheet Metal Brake

Hi All:

I did not find my plans for a brake.

The good news is that there are many brake plans ranging from 5 to 20 dollars on ebay USA. If you simply ask for sheet metal brake in the general or all catergories.

Good Luck
Robert
