the shelby gt 500 mustang in gone in 60 seconds

can anny one help me finish a argument that i have with my mates?? the gt 500 came out with a 289 in them right?? my mates are arguing that the one in gone in 60 seconds had a 427in it. but im sure it has a hot 289

GT500's were equipped with 428 engines (427s were theoretically an option),the '67's were 2-4 equipped PI engines and about halfway through the '68 model when the 428CJ became available it was switched over to that engine. The GT350 was 289 equipped in'67 and 302 in '68.
