shift flair

If you mean a slight spin up in rpms when it makes a 2-3 upshift, then if the trans is stock, that would mean not enough TV pressure.

As in, the cable is not adjusted correctly. Do the other upshifts seem to ocurr sooner than they should?

And don't forget, 3-4 clutch failure is very common, with this trans. The 3-4 clutchs apply on the 2-3 upshift.

When the trans shifts from 2 to 3 it revs up and then goes into gear. When it goes in its fine. The more I'm in it the worse it is. Is there a proper name for this condition?

I rebuilt the trans a few months ago and have just recently been able to use it. It's a little better than stock, and my clearances are within spec. The upshifts come in a little later than they used to. I'm talking like 2 or 3 miles an hour later. I have a corrector kit on the way for my carb. Would the tv cable be a likely cause, or is it something else.

shift flare

There are a lot of things that can cause a 2-3 flare.

Worn vb in the TV area, damaged seals in either the input drum or the servo, too much clearance in the servo.

Drilling the 2-3 feed too large in the separator, just a bunch of stuff.

Thats what I was affraid of. I'm hoping it's the cable cause I'm waiting on my carb corrector right now. If its not that I'll see about the servo next.

Hey guys. I adjusted the cable and it shifts like it's supposed to. I still have the 2/3 shift flair but only when I'm in the throttle pretty hard. It does fine if I'm just easing around. Could that be the servo?

Thanks
