Shift selector lever worn on 700r4

Hello I have a 700r4 in my impala and the shift selector lever on the left side of the trans is also sloppy on the shaft. I had initially attempted to adjust the cable because it wasn't hittingall gears properly. The sshifter is a B&m mega ratchet shifter. So I noticed the selector lever is all sloppy as the rectangular hole is worn bigger then the key on the shaft. My question is should I change the lever or both the lever and the shaft? And if so, how do I get that shaft assembly out from the transmission? I already have the pan off so Yea. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If the shaft doesn't appear to be worn, I'd just replace the lever. I've had several do that to me over the years and have had good luck just replacing the lever. Best of luck.

If the new lever does not tightly fit the shaft, just remove the internal nut and swap out shafts.
