Doubt your going to find what your looking for in a bolt in installation. What is the 700R4 in that it takes a 6' to 8' long cable to shift it? You will probably have to go with a regular tall shifter from Lokar or Genie then modify it to work with a cable you get someplace else.

Why do you say a Hurst or B&M is "not available"? Hurst has 6, 8 and 11' cables here http://martelbrothers.com/product.ph...28&cat=0&page=
and B&M has 8' and 10' cables here http://martelbrothers.com/menu_searc...ber=&keyword=b

Is there something else about the installation that prevents use of the B&M or Hurst? I'm not sure I undestand why the "tall floor mount" would cause a problem using a normal shifter and a long cable.

shifter

I ran in to the same problem on a streetrod, I bought the handle from Gennie shifter, then cut the handle off of my B&M and welded on the tall lever with an 8-ball that I drilled and tapped. Just a thought. Bill

Shifter

This shifter is going in a 1967 Ford van the shifter sits about 6'' in front of the engine house that should explain the cable length the height is because the seat track is approx. 6'' below the very top of the compartment which is 19 1/2 '' off the floor.I was hoping for a bolt in but modify may be my only option at this time Lokar is working on basically what I want but it's months or so away from production so they say??. thanks for you'r input it's appreciated as always Loneranger

lone ranger,

Sorry if I might still sound a bit dense, but I'm still not understanding the problem. B&M shifters for automatics can be mounted in the trunk if that's where you want them. So why can't you just bolt the shifter to the top of the engine house, cut a small hole to snake the cable through, and be good to go?

No it's not dense! You are 100% correct It looks like I'll be modifying a extra front engine compartment panel to except a short console mounted shifter till I find what I want. then just change out the panels .Sometimes it takes me awhile of hitting brick walls before I change what I in vision (sometimes it's good sometimes it's not)thanks again for the help keep me in mind if anyone runs across what I'm looking for.
