shifter knob help

Hey

Yea so I am pretty dumb, I am just starting to learn about everything on cars.

I bought a shift knob the other day, as a souvenir. So I got back and was like, eah.. what the heck, ill put it on my Camaro. Soo i ripped off the shifting knob on my Camaro, and noticed there was a big uh.. I cant think of the name of it right now.. ill call it a screw. So I ripped my camaro shift knob off and noticed there was a BIG screw and in the shifting knob i purchased has a small hole for lack of a better word. So am I missing something here or doing something wrong? If its just a different type, is there any conversion things or anything? Is it just totally incompatible ??

I feel sooo dumb right now

o well, u live, u learn i guess. hahah

THANKS

If it's an aftermarket knob, it might have a bushing screwed into a larger hole, if you look real close.

What era of Camaro do you have? The third gens ('82-'92) had large diameter shifter sticks. I know Hurst makes a T handle with several different bushings for different sizes. What did you get?

The proper forum for this question would have been Hotrodding basics. Just because something is on the inside of the car doesn't make it a candidate for the interior section. I think this was an honest mistake, and '86 z28 won't double post again.
