Shifter or Trany ?

I am restoring a 1976 Camero LT and I bought it with a Quicksilver Automatic shifter today it slipped out of drive and and i could rev it like nuetral then i put it in nuetral and then back in drive and it shifted back fine but when i would get in a higher rpm it would do it again and again. I thought a trany rebuild but could it be in the quicksilver shifter? I no nothing about it i called the manufacter and recived a insulation manuel on line but it has nothing for trouble shooting. So Trany or Shifter ??

May need to drop the Pan & see if the internal shift linkage is tight. Check the external shift linkage on side of Trans 1st.
