Why did the high stall effect the shifting of the transmission? Before the high stall, it had a crisp shift to it. Any thoughts?
Higher Stall speed converter softens up shifts... that is part of the action from a stall speed converter to get the engine into a higher RPM.
This is common.
When you get the engine RPM up high the shifts should be much firmer.
SHift kit wise.. I suggest TransGo blue box .... t-350 1&2
I would use the firmer shift settings since you have that GM-30 converter
