Shiftkit needed if have transbrake?

Hello,

I was curious if it would do any good if you install a shift kit with a transbrake?

Thanks

Trent

shift kit

definetley install a shift kit if you are going to the trouble of installing a trans brake. The trans brake is to assist the launch from the start line. A shift kit firms up and speeds up the actual shift through the gears. I would choose the shift kit over the trans brake if i could only afford one. The trans shop will tell you which shift kit will complement your trans based upon the weight of your vehicle (i.e too hard a shift and break traction etc). Install a trans oil cooler too if you haven't got one cause trans brakes heat them up.

Cool

A transbrake vave body is already set up for maximum performance shifts since a trans brake is primarily for drag racing

Cool

Depending on the tranny , they need special attention to internal parts for transbrake operation.

The torque converter needs to be built for transbrake operation to avoid 'ballooning" the converter
