Shingles hit my cars...

I just had 80+ MPH winds tear half the shingles off of my house. Some of these shingles hit my cars and scuffed the paint. Both vehicles are white and the scuff marks are very noticeable. What can I use to safely remove these marks? Thanks...

Same thing happened to my car last year.

In general, if you can feel the scratches with your nail, they re too deep to polish out.

What would be my best plan of attack to try to at least minimize the damage without repainting?

hand applied paste wax about every two weeks. Keep water from getting under the paint/primer and away from the metal under the paint. I've done small spots with color matching touch up paint and rubbing compound also.

You should see what my buddies 99 Dodge truck looks like on the drivers side after the tornado in St. Louis at the airport got done with it. So much glass particles hit it you could grate cheese on it.
