I need some advise if anyone had time...
I've got a 350 in a s10 frame and im having issues getting an alternator bracket and power steering pump to have their pulleys line up w/ the short water pumps pulleys.
with the alternator, ive tried both sides high and low and multiple brackets and I cant seem to get it to line up. same deal with the power steering pump, on the drivers side. im ready to ditch the power steering idea and just try to get the alternator bracket setup to at least give me that.
any ideas on keeping the short water pump and making it work? I will have problems going with a long pump, as it will hit the electric fan and radiator. ideally i would have the alternator high on the pass. side and the power steering pump high on the drivers side. the steering box itself is low on the drivers side.
so any trick, idea, or voodoo magic to get either or both of these in line w/ the engine pulleys w/o swapping to a long pump would be greatly appreciated.
i have not looked at vette parts. the big issue im having is it appears the short pump is limited on bolt holes, so theres no where to attach most brackets.

The short pump requires the use of pre 1969 and older brackets or the Corvette but this is a little different from production model short pumps using a 3/4 inch pump shaft instead of the passenger car 5/8ths. Truck engines are a mixed bag most will use the passenger car 5/8ths shaft pump, some heavy duty models got the larger 'vette pump shaft diameter. Keep in mind that the alternator does get moved around a bit between left and right side installations as this moves through the years.
With a short pump there is not sufficient space to mount accessories using the forward facing bolt locations of 1969 and newer heads. The older brackets are available, they will mount the accessories more rearward and outward compared to 1969 and up locations long pump locations.
there should be enough room for the long pump on s10 swap. thats what i did with mine
