I am rodding a 1972 GMC Sierra Classic. Currently it is a long bed but I am planning on cutting the frame use a short fleet side. Has any one cut this year frame? Where did you cut out? I have been told there is a different size cab for the short beds...is this true? Thank you soo much.
The cabs are the same. Turner enterprises in Hemett, CA. makes a kit for this exact application. There was an article on this in one of the truck magazines last year. Try Street Trucks. They show a lot of his work and he usually has a full page advertisement in the back. The biggest thing is after cutting and welding the frame is moving the mounts, and of course finding a good short bed!
I have always heard you needed the smallest cut possible for the frame?
