Should i buy this car?
Here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1 Here is what is sacrying me away so far: The price the engine being a 6 and not an 8 the 4 doors some of the rust on the floor pans I really wanted a 2 door chop top. But the difficult glass work is done on this car. the interior is all suppose to be there as well as the chrome trim and bumpers. At $2500 is this car worth it based on the pictures you see? I was going to offer him $1800 and if he takes that i will take the car, but he is set on his price from what he says. |

Pretty sure the reserve is way more than $2500, never mind $1600..........................says "Reserve not met"

The thing is; i am having mixed emotions. Being young i look at the resale cost lets say in 5years. the 4 dopors aren't worth as much as the two doors.
4 doors is cool because i can easily load all my buddies in there, but 2 doors to always cool. Im going to watch the auction and stay in touch with the seller. can anyone convince me to buy it? Maybe you have some pictures of some really nice 4 door street rods? |

I like the 56 body/grill style better. Do I have a thing for that year?
What I would watch out for is the most solid, straight, complete (trim, glass, etc.) body you can find. You can swap drivetrains pretty cheap from a more modern donor. Then again...you are wanting a chop top. Maybe body condition is not as important to you as it was to me. I don't have that sort of talent. Hmm.... |

The chop top plans are for more down the road. Ideally, i would find a bidy that has all the pieces and is straight with NO engine and Trans. I was thinking of swapping in a Very modern engine is possible. maybe the camaro v6 or something like that. fuel injection would be sweet! Im starting my research on the trucks and putting the chop top project aside. I am going to need a new daily driver by Next year |

I understand. I was looking for the straightest body possible and was planning on swapping everything from a modern donor. Well....like all good plans it didn't quite work out that way.
I ended up with a really solid body all right, but it is an original truck. Original drive train and all. Take a look at my gallery and my website and you will see what I mean. Anyway, I got it for less than it would have cost me to do a lot of rust repair, panel replacement, interior work, and drivetrain. http://home.centurytel.net/brian_b/56/index2.htm |
