Get the thing! Flush out the crankcase fill with a good 10-40w oil and try running it. Sounds like your not going to run it 24/7 but only when needed. If you need a new pump get one, I think your money ahead with this compressor. By the way I was at HF today and the store has a sale going on for a vee-twin pump for $99. Good luck Tom F
