Wow, I like that turbo six idea, I just got done driving around and it drives alright, but lacks power, but I guess I should expect that for the stock six

what CI is the engine? '64 had the 144, 170 and 200 6 available ( 144 is rare in later cars )

I think its the 170, I decoded the vin and thats what it said the car came with

I do have a dumb question though, what weight of oil does this motor use??? 20w50???

if it is a 170, that's not the best to start with, but not the worst.. getting the new cylinder head for $1,500, milling it to bump the compression.. first obstable being the no longer available .025 compressed head gasket ( have to mill head .025 right off the bat ). so once that's done a .045 gasket will render the factory comp ratio ( actully just under ).. you can get the comp up to 10:1, still run pump gas. with the alloy head, 10:1 comp ratio, electronic ignition, 2bbl carb. seems 150 HP is possible, and that would make the engine respectable. but if you can find a 200, it will swap right in
