Should I keep my hydro-boost brake system?
I am doing a build up on a Chevy Suburban that came equipped with a hydro-boost braking system.I am replacing the diesel engine with a 427.
The hydro-boost system works flawlessly but the repair parts for it, when it does go bad, are a bit expensive.I have a donor truck with all the components necessary to switch to a vacuum assist brake system.
The truck is being built for performance but will occasionally see towing duty.
Does the hydro-boost system have any advantages that I am not aware of?
Also, I originally intended to switch to a quicker steering ratio. Would that be possible if I keep the hydro-boost system, since the power steering system is tied into the brake system?
