Should I keep my hydro-boost brake system?

I am doing a build up on a Chevy Suburban that came equipped with a hydro-boost braking system.I am replacing the diesel engine with a 427.

The hydro-boost system works flawlessly but the repair parts for it, when it does go bad, are a bit expensive.I have a donor truck with all the components necessary to switch to a vacuum assist brake system.

The truck is being built for performance but will occasionally see towing duty.
Does the hydro-boost system have any advantages that I am not aware of?
Also, I originally intended to switch to a quicker steering ratio. Would that be possible if I keep the hydro-boost system, since the power steering system is tied into the brake system?

here's a few sites I found on them, hope it helps. cant personally tell you about them but I do know they'll throw you through the windshield if there's a panic stop. They're must better then regular power brakes, but like you said to rebuild or replace it aint cheap..........joe

Thanks Joe!

Those links helped alot. I have decided to keep the system since the truck will see occasional towing duty. The extra cost in parts should be worth it since, now I know, that my system provides extra braking power without any variations.
