Post Should I torque to spec??

I swapped out my 82 305 for an 86-89 350. The 350 was TBI with FI heads and I needed my stock manifold to fit. It wont fit due to the center bolts are different so I had them drilled out and spotted so I could make them work. However, since the bolts will not sit flat like it should, how much can I safely torque the manifold bolts? I dont want to bend the bolt or mess up the top threads on the heads. Any help appreciated...thanks.

PS....I am almost ready to offer an award for anyone who can identify this suffix. I have searched and searched but still cannot identify.
It is V0325DJS. No one can identify the DJS.

Normally when you "spot" the bolt holes that means the facing surface is made perpendicular to the axis of the bolt. Doesn't sound like these holes were "spotted". <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Thanks for the imput....I guess they were not "
spotted". They were machined for a flat surface to set the bolt...as least as much as they could be.
