Show How to Promote it

My name is Stan Englert , my wife is Linda and we love Classic Cars, Hot Rods and Bikes. We have enjoyed stopping by many small car shows while traveling. So we decided to bring some of that fun and excitement to our home town. We own the local Radio Shack Store that is located on main street in Syracuse Kansas and thought it would be great to have a car show here.

On Sat. April 17 of 2004 We put together the 1st. show. It was a great success.

The 2nd show was on Sat. April 23 of 2005. We combined it with the chamber of Commerce's 75th Anniversary Party for the Northrup Theater and had a blast.

The 3rd show will be May 6 of 2006 this year. The Chamber of Commerce will be taking over and will be combining it with the First National Bank 100th year Anniversary party. It looks like it will be an all day and continue into the night Party!

We hope to see you there.

Stan Englert

I've never run a show but I attend tons of them, usually two or more per week during the show season. Except for the really large shows, like Back to the 50's or the NSRA Louisville show, I find out about the shows in two ways: I either get a flier handed out at a prior show (folks going around the grounds putting fliers in all the show cars), or I read about it on the web. There are numerous sites that carry "calenders" of car shows, usually by state. I only follow the ones having to do with the upper midwest so you'll have to search out what's available for the Kansas area. If you haven't done it already, just start Googling "car shows Kansas" or similar search phrases and see what all you come up with. Then get your show listed on all the calendars you can find.

There is a third way I find out about shows and that's through old fashioned word of mouth from other street rod owners. There isn't much you can do to initiate this EXCEPT to make sure that YOUR show really treats rodders well and provides for an interesting day for the rodders as well as the spectators.
