Show me some "satin black" paint jobs
I'm ready to paint a 76 Terra thats been rodded out a bit. I don't like flat black paint jobs but I'm considereing satin. Input please! Thanks
Well I was waiting to see the replys on this one too, but since
no one is comming forth, here's my idea.
I get a real nice even satin finish right before buffing by going over
my 2000 grit color sanding with a 4000 grit Abralon pad (Mirka)
This might be exactly what you're after, it's a semi-gloss look
that looks scratch free, real even and consistant.
You might want to give that a try on a test panel and see.
(just my 2 cents worth) :pimp:
Been thinking of some single stage black with the UV protectors.
i like to go with a black base then clear it with a clear with flattining agent in
it .works real well.
I'd go with something similar to the above:
Base and 'standard' clear, then once cured, flat and recoat with a satin clear.
This can be done by either adding a flattening/matting agent, or I use a matt clear with a 20% gloss level. This can be mixed with my standard clear to give any gloss level I want.
