305 Chevy with 1405 Edelbrock on a single plane intake in my '23 T-bucket. Has since been replaced with a 355 with a Q-jet on a Weiand 8004 dual plane intake . Guess I need to take current pics .

Here's my 350 in my 78 firebird. Pretty mild build: flat tops, mild cam, port and polished heads, holley contender high rise manifold, edelbrock 600 cfm carb, hei distributer. Just put it in over the summer, has less than 50 miles on it so far.

No, the flat tappet lifters keep the cam in place and make the lifters spin. If you use a flat tappet cam with roller lifters the cam will start coming out of the block slightly.

and most likely cause a flat lobe on the cam? and cupped lifters

The reason the flat tappet cam will not work with roller lifters is because the cam lobe profile is totally different on roller lifter cams and flat tappet cams , and would change cam timing and dwell drastically , So the short answer is NO . You cannot run roller lifters with a flat tappet cam or vice/versa .
