Not exactly your idea of a hotrod, but 385 whp @ 18 psi on pump gas isn't bad for me, Imagin race gas now... Runs a 12.594 @ 126.45 mph in the 1/4 on street tires and pump gas. By the way everyone remember my tribute car... here is the engine as it sits now... 3400 heads and lower intake, 3500 upper intake, 65 mm throtle body, and GT3076R garret turbo .

Just found this old pic of the last 355sbc i built and stuck in a 79 Malibu i had about 1 year ago,,, wish i still had the motor i would stick it in my 55 Chevy
350 .30 over
550 lift solid comp cam
1.6 roller rockers
2.05 alum vette heads port match and polished
850cfm carb
victor intake
Keith black flat top piston's
Revved really good to 6500+
guessing 450 to 500 hp?
never went to the track but i raced my buddy's 12 sec nova and got him by a fender
Should be firing this on the test stand next weekend. 454 with B&M 250 charger, Fuel injected with distributorless ignition. The last piece is determining the size of spacer I need for the lower supercharger pulley. I would like to use two spacers and put my decoder wheel between them for the ignition system. Should know exactly what I need after this weekend.
Might say I never cared much for normal engines,,
The odd ball non blown vette motor is in a 36 chev,, the 3rd picture is with the mock up scoop that I am now making,,
Bought some NGK projected tip plugs. I thought they would clear the dome. They hit just enough to shatter the ceramic or porcelain whatever it is. I never heard anything. Cranked it 4 or 5 times to try and get it started. Pulled the plugs and....thats it. Tore it down to bare to find the most of cylinders etched beyond repair. The block was at 40 over. I thought I could save it to maybe 60 over, but its too deep.
Block was 100
Machining 450
Forged pistons 400
Rings 160
Very expensive life lesson. I will be scared to buy 3/4 reach plugs even with flat tops.
I will have pictures in the gallery by tonight.
Trying to stay up beat about it, but I am very disappointed/depressed. I was on budget for project and now its shot to hell and I have to spend another grand-ish.
EDIT-Pictures are in my gallery. The porcelain just wreaked havoc on engine in a very short time. You would think it was made out of diamonds the way it cut.
Forged aluminum paper weights will be on sale shortly. 20 bucks. Shout if you want one.
well, I posted earlier on my 200 I6 in my '67 Falcon, but it's changed a bit. still changing in fact. I decided to tear it down and use my free Garret T3 turbo on it, so $4,000 in parts and counting. I'll have a 300+ HP screaming 6cyl in the end. here is a fairly updated pics, I have the oil pan on now, but that's all that has changed.
Engine specs are as follows
1967 Ford 200 I6
8.81:1 Compression
block 0 decked
2.3L HSC Tempo/ Taurus flat top pistions- cast .030 over
Clevite 77 Bearings
Clay Smith cam 224/224 @ .50 .495 lift
1978 casting 250 I6 cyl head- 62cc chambers and a larger intake log than '67 head
JP performance Dual Roller Timing Chain
Yella Terra Full roller 1.65 rockers
Garret T3 from '78 Buick 231
Duraspark II distributor fired with MSD 6 BTM
couple more weeks or so and the engine itself will be togther
