1979 f150 460 CID carb and intake help!!!!

I'm needing to know what would be the best combination of a carb and intake for my old truck. i was looking into a Holley street avenger 670 cfm part# 0-80670, a Holley 770 cfm part# 0-80770, and an Edelbrock performer 600 and 750 cfm. all vacuum secondaries, and electric choke. i haven't looked at any intakes yet, but was wondering if anyone could help me with this. It has a Holley carb on it now that i believe is a 650cfm. thanks

assuming the motor is basically stock I would go with the 670 SA. I would go with a performer rpm intake

Hi,
Here is a good bit of information about the 460, including carb & intake, timing gears & chain (oem are 9*retarded) & other good stuff.

the truck is completely stock but i want to modify it without going real extreme with it. maybe just a carb, intake, and some headers and exhaust. i just want power and for it to sound good.

Your plan is great based on extended RPMs
If most of your driving will be UNDER 3500 RPMs and you are looking for fuel mileage then I would use a Stock Iron Intake. It will give better Low speed performance and fuel economy. Now if you Plan on being in the throttle much over 3500 Rpms alot then get the performer RPM or the Weiand Stealth intakes.
With the Stock intake I would go with the 670 Carb
if you are going to RUN up the RPMs then I would get something in the 700 Range
It all depends on the usage
