2 canisters
Hello there just wondering if any one can tell me why I have two canisters on my 86 Monte Carlo ss. One is for the fuel vent and its tall and round but the other one sits right beside it and looks like a ball, what is this one for and do I need it? any input would help. thanks Eric

I believe it's a vacuam canister, should have two lines, one to and from. It's for keeping vacuam to various acc's like your vacuam operated vent, heater, defroster flaps to keep them in the right spot under low vac conditions, don't take it off. My boss had a Astro van with one that got smashed and that's what happened, low vac and the under dash doors went all weird.

no it only has one line going to it and it ties intothe outher canister?

|
It's a vacuum reserve canister ant it ties to the evap canister because the purge valve on the evap canister uses engine vacuum to operate.
