if you put 64cc heads on a 406 with flat tops then you will get 10.6:1 cr. Which would require a fairly big cam to run pump gas. a compcam 292H would work but needs a 3000 rpm stall and steep gears.
I would stay with your current setup. 268H compcam, 2000 stall, and 9.4:1 cr (if your piston is 0.020" below the deck which is typical). |

the 286H cam is very nice but if you are going to keep the stock crank, and rods which you can, but i wouldn't want to go up to 6k and beyond, since this is going into a big truck i would go more with the comp cams X274, this cam is very much like the 286H but with a lower band, better for a 4x4 with more torque in mind, and the lift would be even higher if you go with 1.6 rockers it would be .522, you could even go with one of the lower ones like the X268 would be good to, i just used one of the online dynos, no one as good as the other guy, but it does have the hp and tq going up with the X274 but only by about 5hp and 10tq but you power band would be lower which is what you want
