7400 Vortec Cam
So I got my hands on a 454 96-00 Gen 6 vortec engine complete with a roller cam. Yes, I know they have non-adjustable valvetrains and other limitations, but after my Gen 4 ate a cam lobe or two or three, I just want a little power and a lot of reliability. Stock these engines make 290 hp, does anyone know what is the largest cam you can use without messing with the topend? I headr comp cams XE274 is max? Any ideas on how many ponies this thing should make with that cam? It has 9:1 compression (100cc closed chamber heads).
