305 timing,hard starting
I have a 305 w/ Edelbrock torker and cam kit,600cfm edelbrock carb, headers, msd cap kit, new plugs and wires in my 69 chevelle. The timing is set at 14 degrees, 600rpm at idle and 20 lbs of vacuum. It starts up fine in the morning. Once i shut it off ( the car is 195 degrees warm) let it sit for 10 or 30 minutes it starts hard it keeps cranking.

disconnect the vac advance and plug it. Back the timing down at idle to 12 degree`s before top dead center. Lock distributor back down. Reconnect vac advance and make sure it`s connected to a manifold vacuum source or one that is pulling vacuum at idle. If hard starting persists redo the procedure and reduce the timing 2 degrees until the problem is gone. A torker is the wrong intake for your combo, a performer would have been a far better choice.
