70 A Body Window Rubber Gaskets
Can some one tell me about window rubber gaskets? I need to replace them on my 70 A-body. How do I remove the old gaskets? Where can I find replacement gaskets and how hard is it to install them? Do they glue in place? What glue to use? Any tricks or short cuts I should know about for removal and installation?

What windows are you talking about? There aren't any "gaskets" at all on that model. The side doors have rubber weatherstrips around the outside that stay on the body if it's a hardtop. If it is a sedan yeah they have a rubber "run" around the window. The front windshield and the back glass are glued in with urethane and use no "gaskets" at all.

Pardon me I should have used the proper term, "weather strips". It's a hard top.
Front passenger window, both rear passenger windows, front driver window. Last edited by beertracker : 06-02-2011 at 07:36 PM. |
