Body Mounts

I am in the process of installing body mounts for a 1941 dodge. Currently making the brackets for the body mounts. My problem is locating generic rubber mounts that won't cost me an arm and a leg. What I'm looking for is a 2" diameter by 1/2" height and with 1/2" hole and locating boss. Any ideas out there? I found some on Oldcarstuff website but don't want to spend over $70 for 10. Thanks

I would go to a junk yard and look at some of the body mounts on anything, to see what you could interchange with. OR, just search google, type in rubber frame mounts, and your size, plenty of info should come up. Hope this helps, let me know.

I've never tried this trick myself, but some truck guys replace their worn body mount bushings with hockey pucks.

Body Mounts

Thanks for the information on the Body Mounts. I've found rubber material that are used by farmers in their barns for cows. It is call cow pads and comes in a short roll 5/8" to 1" thick. I can make my own for a fraction of the cost of manufactured mounts. A 2" hole saw works great. Thanks for all the suggestions though.

body mounts

Thanks! Checked out the web sites. For my application, I've made my own body mount brackets and will fabricate my own rubber mounts. Still can save a little money that way.

Check on rubber rollers for boat trailers. They are fairly firm and I just bought one about 10" long that can be cut off to any length you want and it was like 9 bucks.
