41 Chevy coupe custom running board ideas please

I need some custom running board ideas, mine were hacked off I guess when they swapped out the frame & pan from a 78 Monte.

The former owner says he was quoted 200 per side to redo the original bulge style rockers (not really running boards)

I prefer the pre-1941 flat running boards, does anybody know if repops would fit my 41 Special Deluxe coupe?.....or did they change fender styles every year?

I have tried looking for the answer but all the online catalogs seem to infer that each year is different?

I have a ;42 Chevy and it has no running boards. I have looked at the older ones and they are different. I think you would have to customize that area to do what you want to.

check out the ones sold for pickups as those may work with some trimming to fit and working out the attachment..

I'll try to find a length on those old pickup boards, i've considered that idea but to me they look short. Mine need to be 63 inches.

Bet I can have a local sheetmetal shop fab up a pair way cheaper than repops, its just heavy gauge steel with one 63" rolled edge and one 63" angle edge, I can trim the corners and add some channel rubber. I would figure the bracket mount and have them welded onto the bottom of the boards.

After mounting i'd be ready to paint the car, I would prep the boards and have them sprayed along with the rest of the car (Sunburst orange metallic)

Then custom cut the rubber mats and WALLAH.....I just answered my own question

This is a 41 Chevy coupe. As you can see it does NOT have running boards. All you need to do is replace your inner and outer rocker panels. Check Chevys of the 40's for those parts.

Too expensive and besides I like real running boards better. My rod is totally custom, so the boards ought to be as well.
