65 Chevy Impala running lights do not work

I own a 65 Chevy Impala and my headlights, turn signals, stop lights and brake lights work but my running lights do not. I have replaced the headlight switch and checked the fuses and every bulb I can find. Do any of you know what it can be?

thanks

Broken brown wire in the trunk----or on the floor up to the rear harness connection.

To the left of the steering column is a group of wires that seem to be coming from behind the firewall pad (cause they are).
Just above this is a connector----unplug the connector and check to see if you have 12 volts on the brown wire on the connector that goes up into the dash or the fusebox. (turn the lights on first)

If you have 12 volts there, there will be a break in the wires that run across the floor into the trunk.

If you do not have 12 volts----there will be an issue either with the headlight switch itself, or a the wire feeding the taillight circuit.

If, you have dash lights----the wiring to the switch and the switch itself will be okay.

Blowing a Dome light fuse may take the taillights with it.
Not sure on your car but if you can pull the headlight switch out, check the connector for a brown wire with either 1 or 2 white stripes.
This wire should have 12 volts all the time---lights on or off.
If no voltage there----it will be in the fusebox somewhere.

Looking at a drawing for a 66 Pontiac Lemans, the dome light is on one fuse, the cigar lighter is on another fuse and taillights are on a different fuse.
All three of these fuses are on the same buss and powered by the battery.

Not sure, but that car may have a black ribbon cable that is pretty much obsolete and unavailable. It may also be individual wires for each circuit---not positive on that car.
