36 chevy truck firewall help

I want a clean smooth firewall on my fenderless 36 chevy truck. It has a hump in the center and it only goes half way down. I want a flat full length firewall. I am debating on tracing the outline, cutting out it out, and tack welding a sheet from the inside and using filler around the edging. Any advice? Thanks guys.

Sounds like a plan. Are cutting out the orig firewall or simply laying the flat sheet over it? I'm replacing the firewall and trans hump on my 37 Plymouth coupe.
Found that increasing the angle of the floor board where your feet rest gives me an inch or two more width for my wide ***** feet.

I was going to just lay a sheet over it. Should I replace it instead?

Why don't you just shave every hole on the firewall? Looks and lasts a lot better in my opinion

Found this site a few days ago. DirectSheetMetal.com

CV145 for a BBC with a 4" setback. They also list some matching floorboards and even a Trans hump.

That is a common solution..sometimes guys will use a piece of aluminum diamond plate for a custom appearance..
