best source of info on 4L60E?
I have recently agreed to buy a Bravada with a "bad" transmission, and was wondering if anyone could point me to a good source book. My last G.M. tranny instructor said the factory books are no longer given out in classes.
the tranny has no reverse and slipps going forward, i am told. I'll update when i get the truck, soon. thanks for the help in advance. Register now (free) or login to remove ads |

The ATSG manuals are OK.
There is also a 4L60E update handbook. |

Get the ATSG book and the Technical Video 4L60E rebuild video. I just got done rebuilding my 5th 4L60E. Also look up Sonnax. They make the best parts to fix known problems in these transmissions. The have a new shift kit ou that I really like, better than the Transgo, and a "Sure cure kit".
Here is a trans I just rebuilt in a 2005 Yukon. Burnt up the 3-4 clutch. I was going to do a write up on this rebuild but I just do not have the time. ![]() http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/894272 |
